>Description:
On a clean install of 7.5-release, all functions work with the
exception of the detection of the Synaptics touchpad.
The system was later upgraded via sysupgrade -s with identical results.
The touchpad is detected by pms(4) as a PS/2 simple mouse, attached to
the AUX slot of the keyboard controller.
The synaptics(4) driver therefore cannot be loaded, as a Touchpad
device is not found by Xenocara.
Similarly, ws/wscons configuration for multi-touch events like
scrolling cannot be configured.
Single-finger taps with the PS/2 mouse device work.
>How-To-Repeat:
Make standard installation of 7.5 with Xenocara.
Notice that touchpad scrolling and multi-touch events are ignored.
Attempt to configure Synaptics driver by copying and editing
70-synaptics.conf to /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d

Previous models of Panasonic laptop I own (Toughbook CF-C1) with circular
Touchpad had correct detection of the touchpad with 7.5.
I was able to load the Synaptics driver on those and configure scrolling.
This is a different/newer device that is not detected as a Synaptics by pms(4)..
This appears to be a similar issue to the report on 26 Sept 2024 by Izzy Meyer
