That assert, a verification that all the CPUs have the same FPU features, was 
present in 7.5.  The only change in that code was the enabling of AVX512 when 
present in the CPU...but the i3-2120T doesn't have AVX512 support.


If it doesn't repeat on the next boot, then I would write it off as a random 
glitch


If it happens consistently, then capture what is visible of the 7.6 boot 
sequence as well as the ddb "show reg" output, and then try a reinstall (in 
case it was corruption of the kernel code on disk).
