The line with "pci0 at mainbus0 bus 0" was definitely the last one
when trying to boot the bsd.mp shipped by '-current' from December, 2022
('last' year). No I won't upgrade to any newer system: In January 2023
they have made a change to Mesa, which renders it unusable on most
hardware devices I am in possession of; see:
https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=31921
So, as you can see any distribution image I have hoovered from the web at that time values like gold or silver to me, since it is pretty the newest software that will run on my machinery. comment about Mesa, not about bsd.mp: If you wanted to provide a Mesa that works on top-edge hardware like my 8GB Esprimo Quad-Core then I'd recommend a Mesa from directly before the Amber branch was forked. The Amber branch is said to keep support for 'legacy' hardware, but all that I could see, they have done there after forking it is somewhat preventing you from compiling it! Use an old clang and a version from before the fork! https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/home:estellnb:mageiaupdtst/mesa https://upload.elstel.info/software/ Yes Mesa works with CLang and they have introduced changes to CLang, yet at the same time as forking Mesa, so that it ceases to compile the old Mesa code (which is an issue independent to them having made Amber uncompilable (even with old CLang) for anyone who doesn't patch the sources). back to bsd.mp/acpi support, by Dec 2022: Having looked at https://www.openbsd.org/errata.html I could not see any acpi related issues in the last two releases, so I'll suppose the same bug may still linger around in current bsd.mp kernels. In case I should find time to compile a current bsd.msp from Jan 2024's '-current' I will report you the results and whether it would still hang there if you do not disable the acpi0 device. Please ¡TELL! whether a current bsd.mp is or is not supposed to work with my binaries including X and the ports. If I knew that it is (like that would be (~absolutely) sure for a Linux kernel and gnu-rootfs-binaries compiled for it) I am more likely supposed to take up with that work. # sysctl -a | grep ncpu hw.ncpu=4 hw.ncpufound=4 hw.ncpuonline=4 (Set sysctl hw.smt=1 after successful boot, now in /etc/sysctl.conf, will report if that makes a difference.)

Wanna send with my preferred mailing client, which is mutt! Please
¡TELL! what I can do in order to attach any necessary information
regarding the acpi. I don't use anything like Debian's sendbug where I
don't know in the first place on program start whether it will be
possible to save the result as .eml-file in my home directory. A
non-configured postfix is going to crap my just-written bug report (and
know I am investing up to ¡hours of work! in order to write it) without
any chance to restore/get in hold of my work, again.
If you needed it and there isn't such an OpenBSD-package, I can run
something like dmidecode and send you the output, which required me to
boot some live-linux, install the dmidecode package on the live system
(with 'ar x' or anything the like) and so on…
