I disabled carp and decided to retry upgrading to 7.9 again.
Unfortunately, it failed again after 1-2 minutes with only
"attempt to execute user address 0x0 in supervisor mode" printed
no keyboard, no ddb, no other message, completely hung.

Could it be the bnx driver with the network changes which occured
in December 2025?

Unfortunately, this is my main machine and can't keep playing
with it down all day long.
