Subject: ThinkPad T490: brightness keys stop working after plugging in USB-C EarPods
Hi On my ThinkPad T490 running OpenBSD 8, the screen brightness keys F5 and F6 stop working after I plug in wired USB-C Apple EarPods. Sound and microphone through the earbuds work fine. Once it happens, wsconsctl display.brightness stays at the same value no matter how often I press F5 or F6, while xbacklight still changes the brightness, so the backlight itself is fine. Unplugging the earbuds does not bring the keys back, only a reboot does. It has happened twice, on 18 and 20 October. dmesg shows the EarPods attaching as uaudio0, a ucc0 keyboard on wskbd1 and two uhid devices, with no errors. My full dmesg is below. Regards Stefano
