The Software Heritage project wants to collect and preserve open source code.
Classifying software as a cultural heritage sounds like an interesting idea.
And with the Software Heritage project being supported by Unesco it seems to be
a quite recognized effort.

RTEMS is currently only in that archive via some of the GitHub mirrors. It
would be nice to add the RTEMS GitLab directly to that archive.

To do that, it's possible to register a "forge" here:

https://archive.softwareheritage.org/add-forge/request/create/

They want an admin contact for that. I'm not sure whether they only ask the
admin whether adding it is OK or whether they need something more. Therefore, I
don't want to start that process without coordination whether there is enough
time on the RTEMS side.
