Chris Johns commented on a discussion: https://gitlab.rtems.org/rtems/tools/rtems_waf/-/merge_requests/18#note_153905 We decided a long time ago to move away from GCC `spec` files because of they added complexity in the build by adding flags we determines were no needed. The `-B` option lets you do things we did not want to see happen. I cannot remember the reason for `-B` on the link command line.
