The problem I have with the contest idea is that it's easy for a person to touch a lot of bugs and contribute very little to them, and a person may only get through 5 bugs but they may be complicated reports that finally get fully triaged. It'd be difficult to determine any kind of "winner" for this reason, so I think this would be better as a collaboration as opposed to a friendly competition.
