Firstly, I *can* confirm the bug, but I think that the bug should be filled against File Roller: If I open a compressed file (.tar, like the bug report) in File Roller and then drop it to the Desktop (and I have previously uncompressed the same file in the Desktop), File Roller *doesn't* ask for replacing the current uncompressed file in the Desktop. The same happens when dropping it to a folder in Nautilus. I do not know if this is the normal behavior of File Roller, if so, we're talking about a Wishlist bug, right?
