On my box it's actually in the gcc-c++ package: rpm -ql /usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-redhat-linux/4.3.1/libstdc++.so package /usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-redhat-linux/4.3.1/libstdc++.so is not installed zorro:icedtea6 $ rpm -qf /usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-redhat-linux/4.3.1/libstdc++.so gcc-c++-4.3.1-6.x86_64 The gcc you're using should have its library paths set to include usr/lib/gcc/i586-manbo-linux-gnu/4.3.2/ Andrew.
