I understand the security team is still stuck with the old until all their issues are resolved. The fix I have for them is unfortunately breaking sjavac, for which I have requested a fix from langtools. Even if sjavac isn't default I think it would be bad to push a change that made it completely useless.
Okay, I thought the issue for the security-dev folks was behind us. Once this one is fixed (without breaking sjavac) then what would you think about setting a date, after which the old build is "officially" dead.
