What are you proposing for Alpha and all these other platforms?
They work fine with the Zero port and we have been using Zero on these Debian for several years now. For most architectures, just adding the autoconf definitions is enough to get them to build OpenJDK Zero. Some additional minor patches are necessary sometimes. For example, on Alpha we need to patch autoconf not to pass "-Dalpha" during build but "-D_alpha_" as there is already a variable named "alpha" in some of the sources which breaks the build.
For any port supported by the OpenJDK there needs to be an active segment of the community that is prepared to be the "caretakers" of that port.
You're right. But since these platforms use only Zero, this point doesn't apply. Adrian -- .''`. John Paul Adrian Glaubitz : :' : Debian Developer - glaub...@debian.org `. `' Freie Universitaet Berlin - glaub...@physik.fu-berlin.de `- GPG: 62FF 8A75 84E0 2956 9546 0006 7426 3B37 F5B5 F913
