There will be Fedora branching on 2018-02-20. Since we have mock configs split from the main package now, I do not plan to release a new version of mock itself. I plan to just release a new version of the mock-core-configs package.
I just added fedora-28-* config to upstream. In the first week of February, I plan to do the release of mock-core-configs, submit it to Fedora dist-git, build it in Koji. Then I will file errata in Bodhi with karma auto-push disabled. So it can stay 14 days in updates-testing and on the branching day I can push the update to all Fedoras and Epel instantly.
