Got to thinking the other day, some of
the tunnels we worked on where plastic lined, with welded seams at the pipe
joints. A testing company would come in near the end of the project with a
tool referred to as a holiday tester to test these seams,
extremely high voltage, extremely low current. When the tests where being
conducted you did not want to run your hand over a joint, in case there was a
bad spot in the seam. No one could ever tell me why the tool being used was
called a holiday tester, we assumed it was a trade name. Makes sense know,
