Freida,
I haven't seen any response to your question on this listserv and it
would be interesting to get some feedback. You might try posting it on
the transactions listserv where the majority of people seem to reside.

Subject: Map/Wrap solution impact on reporting systems

If you've decided to implement a map/wrap solution what are you doing
about
reporting systems? For example, you may have systems slated for
replacement where you implement a map/wrap solution and others you
elected
to remediate or purchase with fully HIPAA compliant codesets and content
as
your long term solutions. The output of both systems winds up in a data
warehouse or other reporting type system you use for trend analysis,
etc..
Are you remediating the reporting system to support HIPAA compliant
codesets and content (e.g. field length expansions), or just opting to
manage as is (even though you may have resulting truncated data and
multiple codes representing the same content.)

Thanks for your input. Feel free to reply direct if desired.
