Responsibilities include research and development of new technology and engineering best practices, as well as the implementation of complex and comprehensive solutions for enterprise and Line of Business applications. *Additional Skills: * - Current expertise in Redhat Linux version 5 and 6. Additional platform certification preferred. - Strong understanding of VM Ware’s Virtual environment - Solaris 10 Certified. Additional platform certification preferred. - SME of Solaris/AIX core technologies (Sun Clusters, Veritas VM, HACMP). - Five to eight years systems administration and engineering experience in a large enterprise environment - Hands-on engineering and implementation experience with TCP/IP networks - Cisco knowledge preferred - Solid technical knowledge of SAN infrastructure and systems clustering - Knowledge of IIS, MS SQL, exchange - Data Center engineering experience including DMZ environments - Co-ordinate monitoring tool initiation (e.g. Tivoli, Insight Manager, etc) - Programming, scripting and automation skills desired - Strong team skills - College degree, specialized training, or equivalent work experience - Strong written and verbal communication skills, strong collaboration and negotiation skills - Strong quality assurance and systems testing experience - Experience in managing complex interactions with high-level personnel - Demonstrable experience with functional requirements assurance, complex project activities, and project management - Knowledge of the project lifecycle and the application development lifecycle, role/skill relevancy by phase - Knowledge of HP/IBM/Dell hardware platforms * * *Roles and Responsibilities:* A Unix Implementation Engineer's duties will include a combination of systems architecture, systems development, Unix/Linux/Solaris OS lifecycle development, technical assessments, implementation engineering, regression process development, SAN support from a directory standpoint, technology scaling, server builds, migration and/or transition planning, project planning, standards validation/development, technical documentation, presentation to management, training and mentoring of more junior staff, and troubleshooting and problem resolution.
