Architecture, implementation and maintenance of Microsoft SQL Server . Responsible for all aspects of data architecture including conceptual data models, logical and physical design . Participate with the engineering team in all activities including architecture, design, software development, QA, performance benchmarking, optimization and deployment . Work as a part of the core architecture team to design the entire system including the web tier, application tier and database tier . Responsible for all aspects of the database subsystem including database development, administration, query optimization, performance tuning, scalability and fault tolerance . Design schemas and write stored procedures . Accountable for the stability, scalability, behavior and security of the database . Work with vendor, managing enhancements to existing systems . Maintain existing database . Develop estimates and meet committed schedules . Provide technical documentation and support for SCADA databases to other departments and customers when required. . Create plans and schedules to drive the project to completion and ensure delivery dates. . Responsible for converting these plans into technical design tasks. . Keep abreast of changes in scientific knowledge and engineering technology, and utilize such changes in solution of theoretical or practical engineering problems. *ESSENTIAL SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE:* . Ability to drive projects and small groups independently with little oversight . Structured approach to database development with meticulous attention to detail . Bachelor's (or equivalent) degree in Computer Science or Information Technology (and/or equivalent work experience). . 5+ years of SQL Server, writing complex stored procedures . 5+ years of database architecture and schema design . Extensive experience with Microsoft SQL Server . Good analytical, design, prototyping and documentation skills. . Must be able to work with little or no daily supervision . Must able to understand, implement and write technical specifications . Must able to understand and write test plans . Must be able to perform unit and integrated testing according to test plans . Can communicate with vendors and clients . Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced team environment . Strong organizational skills required. . Positive attitude. *VALUED BUT NOT REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:* . Experience with Agile Programming and SCRUM methodologies . OLAP database and reporting experience . Masters in Computer Science or similar (Bachelor degree still encouraged to apply) . Experience with enterprise databases . Historical data collection solutions . General Quality Assurance / Six Sigma knowledge or better . Configuration management . Able to effectively manage multiple activities simultaneously. . Solution and results oriented. .
