Position: Teradata Database Support Location: Chicago IL 3+ month Chicago suburb assignment. Max rate is $55/. The manager needs 3+ to hire a resouce immediately. Phone screens with client can be today, tomorrow or 12/5. In person interview in Chicago needed soon after. Duties: Database Administration (DBA) function, with the addition of enterprise messaging administration. The professionals in the App/Dev DBA team serve as the Enterprise and IT-wide competency center for database and messaging technology, and for database information management and support. The DBA team provides the database, transaction, and messaging expertise to the rest of the IT organization for the development, deployment, and ongoing support and maintenance for the technical infrastructure; and of the application databases and message queues that utilize that infrastructure. The Database Administrator, Lead participates in the design and development of new IT applications as the database, transaction-processing and messaging Subject Matter Experts (SME). Responsible for assisting with logical database design, as implemented from the application's data model; and for the physical database and messaging infrastructure implementation and performance tuning, based on the characteristics of a particular database and the applications requirements. Responsible for the ongoing change management, security, reliability, availability, integrity and performance of the application's databases during the full life cycle following initial implementation. * Serve as the competency center for database and messaging technology, database information management and support. * Provide seamless database, transaction, and messaging expertise to the IT application and development and support organizations. * Serves and a lead technology consultant for high-profile and major initiative projects. * Participate in the design and development of new IT applications as the database, transaction-processing and messaging Subject Matter Experts (SME). * Responsible for assisting with logical database design, as implemented from the application's data model; and for the physical database and messaging infrastructure implementation and performance tuning, based on the characteristics of a particular database and the applications requirements. * Responsible for the ongoing change management, security, reliability, availability, integrity and performance of the application's databases during the full life cycle following initial implementation. * Provide senior or expert level consulting and technical assistance to application designers and developers, and participates in technology-reviews of purchased application software and IT infrastructure software. * Plans, organizes and executes individual and small-team assignments, and as a technology or work-team leader within the DTMA department. * Identifies and resolves technical problems that range from simple to complex; working with the assigned area of responsibility, and escalating issues and problems and decisions as required and directed * Accountable for reliable and consistent operation and quality of assigned databases and related DBMS/messaging infrastructure for ongoing support. * May supervise junior level Database Administrators Include contact number, rate and full name of consultants.
