Position : Cognos Administrator Location: Framingham, MA Duration: 12+ Months Contract Position Description: Experienced Cognos Administrator to monitor and maintain a large Cognos 10.1 platform serving over 1000 users in multiple geographies in the retail sector. The role includes governing project deliveries against standards, applying patches and Cognos software upgrades, monitoring hardware and software and making recommendations to alleviate performance issues. A successful candidate will have excellent communication skills to be able to communicate effectively with IT projects/support teams, business users, Enterprise Architecture and IBM technical support. Responsibilities: · Reviewing Cognos code to ensure it adheres to design best practice and development standards (including Packages, Reports and Powercubes). · Proactively monitoring Cognos hardware/software environments and making recommendations for improvements for any issues identified and predicting where capacity limits are going to be reached. · Patching Cognos software and applying minor version upgrades. · Installation of software as part of any capacity upgrade project.
