To qualify the ideal candidate will have: *Position : CognosBI Lead* * Location : Purchase, NY* * Duration : 6+ Months* * Rate : $57/hr Max* *C2C* The primary function of this position is to design, develop and deploy business intelligence solutions that leverage data warehouse, BI reporting and analytic solutions. The areas of focus will be the development of reports and dashboards. *Must have Property and casualty Exp. * Responsibilities: - Develop and maintain reports using Cognos 10.2 Report Studio - Develop and maintain dashboards and apply data visualization best practices - Define and document setup and configuration parameters - Define and follow Cognos development best practices - Manage report security, folder security, database row level security, report schedules and distribution - Coordinating with Software Testers and Release Management to integrate the final work product into the production environment by creating deployment files Experience Required: - 7 years of BI/DW and data architecture experience. - Familiarity with development methodologies - 5+ years' experience and a deep technical knowledge with Cognos Report Studio - 3+ years' experience and a technical knowledge with Cognos Administration - Strong PL/SQL development experience with the ability to write complex and nested SQL queries - Senior level skills in building Reports, Dashboards, Scorecards and Active Reports using IBM Cognos 10.x - Competencies: - Experience working in a software development environment - Microsoft Sql Server 2008 and 2012 - Clear, logical, and effective verbal/written communication skills. - Clearly demonstrated sense of urgency and bias for action. - Ability to work well under pressure and independently. - Ability to effectively negotiate with other teams to create a mutually beneficial solution - Demonstrated ability to interpret technical material. - Takes ownership of problems and develops sound solutions. - Demonstrates sound analytical and diagnostic skills dealing with issues that are not readily defined and/or conflict with available information. Has the ability to reach sound decisions quickly. - Able to fully research business situation, identify areas of concern and present solution.
