* System Programmer (DB2/IMS/CICS )* *12 Months Contract* *Houston, TX 77002 * *WE ARE NOT SEEKING for a MAINFRAME DB2/IMS/CICS application programmer. * *We are looking for a DB2/IMS/CICS ((System Programmer)* *Job Description:* Assists with the design, development and maintenance of the computer and network infrastructure. Typically has at least 3 years experience and professional degree. May develop and maintain programs for an MVS or VM environment, using languages such as *Cobol, PLI and IMS*. Would be skilled at software upgrades, troubleshooting mainframe system problems and protocol analysis. *WE ARE NOT SEEKING for a MAINFRAME DB2/IMS/CICS application programmer. * *We are looking for a DB2/IMS/CICS ((System Programmer)) with specific skill requirements below: * *Specific Skills Required:* *1. 10 + years of "System Programmer" with database work experience, several at a senior level, using IMS, CICS, and DB2 on zOS; * *2. Expert knowledge of IMS and DB2 technology and related general information technologies * *3. 10+ years experience supporting and tuning the DB2 subsystems in a heavily used data sharing environment; * *4. Experience with SAP/DB2 DB environment; * *5. Familiarity with TCP/IP network debugging commands; * *6. 10+ years experience installing and supporting large scale subsystems using IBM's SMP/E tool * *7. Ability to work with IBM to research abends and debug system problems using various technical tools and utilities. * *8. Excellent consulting and communication skills; strong job management skills, strong coaching, training and team building skills; ability to anticipate and manage complex problems. * *Valuable Skills desired:* 1. Assembler Language Programming 2. Rexx Programming 3. OPC Job setup and scheduling 4. Mainview or OMEGAMON /DB2 monitor installation, Customization, and Usage. 5. RACF an ACF2 6. Unix System Services 7. TCP/IP 8. Microsoft Office products 9.
