Job Title: SQL server DBA Location: Cary,NC Duration: 12 Months+ Rate: $50 Hr on C2C. Summary: This position is responsible for performing database installations, upgrades, performance analysis, and configurations for commercial database products (such as Ingres, Oracle, and MS SQL). Education/Experience: Bachelor's Degree or global equivalent in Computer Science or a related discipline. Typically 2 or more years of experience in database installation and support, or its equivalent in education and experience. Skills and Competencies: Relevant proficiency in the UNIX, Linux, and Windows operating systems. Diligent, goal-oriented approach to work. Strong communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization. Analytical and problem-solving skills. Leadership skills. Time Management skills. Organizational skills. Prioritization skills. Project management skills. An ideal background will include: • 7 years solid experience in database administration, database architecture and on-call support of MS-SQL Server environments. • A passion for automation to reduce daily operational burden and improve consistency in results. • Solid understanding of Windows Operating Systems. • Familiarity with server virtualization/cloud computing, including tools and technologies such as VMWare • Upgrade experience from MS-SQL Server 2008 to MS-SQL Server 2012/2014 preferred. • Experience with setting up Windows Clusters, Sync/Async Always On Availability Groups. • Experience with backups, restores, recovery models, database shrink operations, dbcc commands, clustering, database mirroring, replication, log shipping. • Experience in Performance Tuning, Query optimization using perfmon, SQL Profiler and other related monitoring and troubleshooting tools. • Knowledge of SQL Server tools (Profiler, Management Studio, Configuration Manager, PerfMon, DMVs) • Documentation skills for processes and procedures (creating runbooks, diagrams, knowledge base articles) • Knowledge of 3rd party DBA tools and applications ( e.g RedGate, Idera ) preferred. • Knowledge in a scripting language like Powershell, VBScript. • Self-starter with a can-do attitude, can work independently with minimal supervision and a willingness to both learn and teach • Ability to succeed and lead in an Agile, team-based environment. • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent experience • MS Certification preferred but not required • Oracle RDBMS/ Cassandra / Linux knowledge will be a plus. • Must possess excellent organization skills, good verbal and written communication skills *Thanks & Regards * *Teja * Aura analytics LLC Email: t...@auraanalytics.com Contact: 408-819-2054 -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Business_Intelligence" group.
