Developer is responsible to maintain vendor developed applications in .Net technologies with SQL server as databases. Developer will provide software application development support to Food Protection Program as required. Developer is responsible for number of system activities during migration of Food Protection Program to new system. Developer is responsible to maintain current FFP Codepal System. Developer will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of special projects and also provide ongoing maintenance support of the existing vendor and in-house developed applications as well as make upgrades and enhancements. Developer will be reporting to Project Manager for day to day operations. Developer will work within a development team environment as well as work independently on projects. *Essential Duties/Responsibilities:* · Provide system analysis and programming, and support to applications used by the Food Protection as required. Work with management and subject matter experts to ensure the delivery of the software solutions that meet the business requirements and needs of the customer. · Developer is responsible for data conversion from current system to new FFP system · Included in this assignment will be applicable unit testing, adherence to coding standards and compliance with software development methodologies defined in established SDLC process flows. · Coordinate with local counties for data exchange through web services with FPP new system. · Web services activities in getting data from external counties. · Developer is responsible for ensuring that the business requirements are met in a timely manner. Incumbent is expected to submit ongoing technical recommendations for the improvement and streamline of current business processes. · Responsible to work with IOT and other external agencies in regards to new system infrastructure activities. · Responsible to coordinate with vendor in new system implementation on IOT servers. · Responsible for the design and development of application reports as needed. · Provide update and maintenance to existing databases used by the Food Protection Program · Provide complete documentation for information systems and/or application software programs · Periodically function as Team and/or Project lead responsible for completion of assigned projects · Monitor completed application software systems to ensure proper execution and performance · Mentor and provide guidance and training to new and lower-level staff · Provide technical support to ISDH Food Protection systems in order to ensure compliance with state and federal laws, national standards and federal grant requirements. · Provide technical support to universities, local counties throughout the state that are using FPP systems in reporting food protection data. · Conduct training activities for Foods staff and other reporting entities on FPP system submitting data to the state; creating statistical reports; and providing other educational needs, as determined by the ISDH State Food Protection program. · Developer is responsible for delivering the data driven reports requests on timely to program area in a timely fashion as prescribed by FFP program director. · Develop, update, maintain, and distribute instructional and training manuals for state staff and reporters of data. · Responsible for complete SDLC for project development. · Working with business staff on detailed business requirements by using a variety of techniques, understanding business processes and technology, agency standards, federal and state policy, and ensuring strategic and project goal alignment. · Use object oriented techniques and best practices for design, development, unit testing and deployment and development of code along with unit testing strategy & plans. · Support FPP programs developed in-house. · Work with Project Manager and FPP Section Director to ensure project plan is maintained and project milestones are being met. · Have ability to work independently and under general supervision with latitude for independent judgment. · Responsible to coordinate with vendor to modify existing applications from time to time due to changes in technology, security, state or federal law changes and national standards. · Updating system patches in a timely manner and troubleshooting any issue raise and other program area IT issues. · Perform related duties as assigned *Preferred Experience:* · 7+ years of working experience with ASP.NET · 7+ years of working experience with VB.net, C# · 5+ years of strong experience in PL/SQL. · 5+ years of work experience in analysis and addressing security related issues for applications. · 5+ years of working experience with MS Access, Oracle & SQL Server.
