*Job Description:*
Our client is building a suite of technologies to deliver advertising to a
worldwide audience of engaged mobile gamers.
Your job will be to lead the charge on the server side to build, deploy,
and maintain a proprietary ad service technology.
We are looking for a highly creative, organized and talented software
developer with incredible interpersonal skills and the programming
experience to match.
We need a server ninja and it could be you!
*Responsibilities:*
•Be THE senior server technologist on the advertising technology team.
•Align technical design and development practices with architectural
vision.
•Design and implement a deployment and systems management strategy that
meets or exceeds requirements for performance, scalability, reliability,
and disaster recovery
•Be the principal engineer on multiple projects, ultimately responsible for
the quality and direction of the software systems.
•Partner with the System Solutions Engineer on the client side to implement
features and address issues
•Partner with the Product Manager to design server features
•Align software engineering practices and products with measurable business
objectives.
•Evangelize engineering best practices throughout the organization.
•Be a mentor for the team.
•Proactively support production systems.
*Required Qualifications:*
•At least 1 year of recent experience as a hands-on software engineering
lead
•More than 2 years of recent hands-on software engineering with strong
experience managing server-side development, deployment and management
practices with a client-side development partner
•Deep experience in the Java tech stack: Tomcat platform with multi-layered
RPCs; JSP-based UI.
•High level of skill in at least one additional mature platform (.NET,
Python, Scala, etc.) and familiarity with several others.
•Strong Object Oriented design and development experience in a multi-layer
service oriented architecture, including RESTful interface definition,
relational and document-oriented storage design, etc.
•Demonstrable knowledge of server operating systems.
•Experience with real time system at a moderate to high load web or mobile
consumer company.
•Architecture skills: design of complete webAPI, network routing, load
balancers, hypervisors, etc.
•Strong knowledge of WebAPI’s
•Datastores both SQL and NoSQL
•Demonstrable knowledge of cloud technologies, especially AWS.
•Knowledge of Agile project management principles and how it applies to
software engineering practice.
•Knowledge of and desire to work in a DevOps-oriented software organization
that deploys and supports what they create.
*Additional Qualifications preferred:*
•Bachelor’s degree in CS, Math, or technical field.
•Bonus points for knowledge of and interest in client technologies,
including web technologies (HTML, CSS, JS) and game client technologies
(iOS, Android, Unity)
•Familiarity with open source development methodologies. Bonus points for
experience with how these techniques can be applied to internally developed
tools and libraries.
