o Location: Palo Alto, CA** o *Start Date: ASAP* o *Duration: 6 Months* ** Role:** This role provides an opportunity to build, develop and manage a challenging and demanding database environment to support company’s mission critical systems. It provides an opportunity to apply your skills as an accomplished DBA in projects and operations that are significant to company’s success and have high visibility to IT and business management. Responsibilities: · Install, configure, implement and support Oracle RAC and non-RAC environments. · Help to architect, build and support highly-available Oracle database environments including appropriate reporting, backup-recovery and monitoring systems. · Performance tuning, cloning, patching and upgrade of Oracle databases and enterprise applications. · Perform daily administration support for database backups, performance tuning and monitoring · Participate in identifying and analyzing system requirements for building new applications · Participate in capacity management of existing database environments. · Participate in design and development phase of Oracle database systems. · Establish and Maintain security of database environments. Support and comply with associated SOX standards and procedures. · Provide operations support for 24/7 system availability. · Lead and participate in projects with cross functional teams Requirements:** · A minimum of 10 year of IT industry experience including 6 years of Oracle database administration experience on a Unix platform is required. ** · Must have experience in installing and deploying Real Application Cluster (RAC) in a Linux environment · A minimum of 2 years experience as DBA supporting Oracle 10g production databases. · Project management experience with projects affecting large numbers of customers in a complex environment is essential. · Experience designing and building 24x7 database environments is required · Must have solid knowledge of Oracle RDBMS internals · Must have SQL and PL/SQL design and tuning experience · Must have logical and physical database modeling experience · Must have experience using Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN) to perform database backups · Must have heavy experience with Data Guard in a Linux environment · Must have strong development skills in Perl or Shell scripting languages · Must have solid experience working on the UNIX platform · Must have minimum 4 years experience supporting Oracle 11i applications · Experience in managing one of the industry standard web servers and application servers is essential. · Oracle Fusion Middleware and/or Siebel/Oracle Universal Customer Master (UCM) experience is desired.
