Location: San Francisco, CA We are looking for someone deeply skilled in Cognos architect needed to re-architect the framework layer of a Cognos based operational reporting solution Analyze existing framework and remediate solution for maintainability, scalability. Work closely in conjunction with client business intelligence architect. Reporting support retail merchandising system implemented in the UK and planned for Italy, Canada, and China. The ideal candidate must have experience in RDBMS fundamentals. Different join concepts Performance and query optimization Advantages and disadvantages of simple/materialized view Experienced in Cognos Modeler (Framework Manager) Cognos 8.2 Resolving join issues (many-to-many, fan trap etc.) Joining different grain transaction (fact) tables with conformed tables. Concept of minimized SQL and multi fact query, Understanding of native Cognos SQL sent by CQE to debug the issues. Understanding stand alone and embedded calculation. Experienced in Cognos Report Developer (Report Studio) Cognos 8.2 Operational Reporting / List Reports Retail merchandising industry exposure (nice to have) Knowledge of retail merchandising – order management, sale reporting, inventory control and reporting Must have 5+ Years experience and experience in application architecture.
