Description: To provide technical expertise within a team focused on the
implementation of ongoing projects of IDN (Integrated Data Network) and
Elektron-PD. It includes but not limited to the IDN Collections systems,
which take in the real time exchange data, check for communications and
formatting accuracy, provide business logic to massage the data and add
value, and then transmit the data down to the IDN Core and Distribution
devices, as well as Thomson Data Network (TDN) for certain exchanges, for
client consumption. To ensure full compliance to operational standards,
procedures, and best practice in the delivery of world class market data
Essential Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
Perform server builds and switch configuration per projects required
Provide Configuration and Change Management support as per the One World
Change Process, meeting day-1, capacity, and data enhancement dates:
Confirm that changes are fit for purpose to be installed in the IDN
environment and will not disrupt service. Install and/or work with 1st line
Operations in the installation of changes and take corrective action with
3rd line support for problems. To ensure that all aspects of operability
are delivered while ensuring that existing service levels are maintained or
improved.
Perform analysis, planning, operational acceptance testing (OAT) as required
for project related work.
Misc tasks per manager's direction.
Required Skills (Must have), Necessary industry Experience & associated
number of years of experience:
Windows server builds.
Wintel environment including: Windows clustering, domain controll, web
servers, citrix server configuration.
Working Knowledge of Enterprise networks (Cisco based); TCP/IP, UDP
Multicast
Enthusiasm and ability to learn quickly
Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills (to include operating
system, hardware, network connectivity)
Performance tuning of Operating System, Networking interfaces and network
tunable parameters.
MS Visio and Excel use for documentation.
Disciplined, with the knowledge of the ITIL process or other corporate
standard
Strong oral and written communications skills with the ability to liaison
with people from a variety of internal and external groups/companies.
Education: BS / BA or equivelent experience in Computer related field
Desired Skills (Nice to have in addition to the Required Skills), Necessary
industry Experience & associated number of years of experience:
Solaris build and working knowledge is a big plus.
Networking experience, switch configuration a big plus.
Working Knowledge of SAN storage.
ITIL Foundation Certificate.
Knowledge of the financial markets is a plus.
