Please share suitable profiles to [email protected] Position: Lead JAVA Software Engineer Location: Vacaville, CA Duration: 6-12 months //Lead JAVA Software Engineer//Vacaville, CA//6-12 months State Fund is seeking a talented, passionate JAVA Software Engineer Application Architect to lead other software engineers to design, integrate, and implement products. This candidate will support the IT Claims system group and is expected to understand the goals & objectives of the group, provide strategic recommendations, and act as a mentor to those in the group. This engagement is expected to start as soon as possible and last six months with a possible six month renewal. The tasks for the Application Architect and Lead JAVA Software Engineer include, but are not limited to, the following: Lead other software engineers to design and implement well-integrated products Define and evolve the architecture for the system. Expert in all technical aspects of the product Evaluate and recommend appropriate technologies based on product needs and industry trends Develop creative solutions and write technical design & architecture documents Provide work estimates for proposed projects Cross-train developers on product features that are implemented Constantly look for better processes for projecting and improving project profitability Perform hands-on software design and development in Java Develop and execute unit tests for product components Establish architectural standards and best practices Encourage innovation of process and creative development methodologies Work closely with management to determine feasibility of product features Establish standards and Perform peer code reviews and provide feedback Promote high quality, scalability, and timely completion of projects The Consultant resource shall possess the following qualifications: BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent degree 10+ years of software development experience 3+ years of proven technical lead and architect experience. Development experience in an enterprise-class system with multi-tier architecture Must have JEE 6 experience, including JPA, JSF, JAX-RS, JAX-WS, JMS Broad experience with various java development frameworks. Broad experience with various J2EE containers such as JBOSS, Tomcat, Websphere etc. Expert in J2EE APIs including EJBs, Servlets, JTA, JSPs, JSTL, web services and JDBC Expert in implementing successful distributed, scalable, high-performance multi-threaded server applications Expert with Design patterns, SOA design & development Experience with data grid technology such as ehCache, Hazelcast or Coherence. Strong experience in developing for high-availability clustered environments Working knowledge of Linux and Windows Strong speaking and writing skills Comfortable working in a flexible Agile development environment The following skills are also highly preferable: Experience with open source Java technologies including Ant, Jenkins, Maven. Experience with SQL programming.
