My unpopular but firm opinion is that existing supervision suites (be it runit, s6, perp or even daemontools(-encore)) are already lightweight enough, and easy to build and install on embedded environments for people who want them, and that reimplementing them is more trouble than it's worth and outside the scope of busybox. Even if you insist on having runit commands inside busybox, you could simply refer people to the official runit documentation.
