Subject: [ButterflyIndia] Cabbage White

Dear Friends,
Vanakkam! Greetings from Chennai.
Last weekend (15 & 15 Nov, 2009) I had a chance to visit Trichur, Kerala. No
wonder it is called “God’s Own Country”. Pristine beauty everywhere.
Unfortunate to me, it was raining heavily and couldn’t venture out often.
At the break of every downpour, I managed to sneak around the immediate
surroundings…

This is the first sps of butterfly I got to see early in morning (6:30)
I guess this is Cabbage White (Pieris brassicae) UN
It was a medium sized butterfly with a Wingspan of around 35 to 44 mm
Location: 10. 48 N & 76.2 E (Google map)
Would like to hear the confirmation.
Thank you.
Regards,
ramjee
