i hope that you did not take a major loss when your wallet was lost. you can
join me in the field on my next trip.

ya i mean Spotted Palmfly (Elymnias malelas and not nesaea). sorry for the
mistake sir. my bad. and the identification was not for "id help 6". it was for
the firs one i think. i am sending that photo again along with two of my photos
and i think it is Spotted Palmfly (Elymnias malelas) only.

and i know that i missed a life time opportunity to be with you in the field.
but as i told, i lost my wallet along with my ATM card while coming to
nagarahole, just before the trip and i had to go back to Bangalore. so
unfortunate it was. but it is good to know that you people got so many
interested species!!! my greetings sir!!

Regards,
Vivek.

vivek, if you are referring to sasi's email with the subject
line, "ID help 6 pl", then the species would be Blue-striped
Palmfly (Elymnias patna), not the Spotted Palmfly. the picture
you sent is that of the Spotted Palmfly but sasi's picture shows a
different pattern of white spots on the underside (compare the
pictures carefully). btw, the scientific name of the Spotted Palmfly
isElymnias malelas, notE. nesaea.

you missed the nilgiris trip, which was unfortunate because we
saw lots of interesting and some very rare species. you would have
loved it. some more pictures will follow from kalesh, arun and david,
i think. i am traveling so it will be tough for me right now to spare
time to send pictures myself.

cheers,
