Dear Friends,

*Vanakkam! *Greetings from Chennai.

This has reference to my mail yesterday sharing a pic of Common Jay sighted
at Nanmangalam Reserve Forest (12°55'31.12"N & 80°10'27.84"E), Chennai on
Sunday, 06 December 2009

Thanks to Ravi, I realised that there's some problem with my camera setting
and the brown colour was darker than usual.

However, when I looked up Isaac's book (pg 120) even the UN is seen in
bright blue colours while the one in Chennai was only ivory-white in colour
(even through the naked eye).

Although the UP was bright blue, which I could see a glimpse while it was on
flight. (I wasn't able to to manage getting the UP pic, despite several
tries)

Is there a seasonal/ geographic variation or was the one I had seen a
juvenile?

Would love to learn the details :~)

With kind regards,

ramjee
