Dear Peter,Thanks for your opinion on the image of  Celaenorrhinus sp.  I have
a photo of Tamil Spotted Flat that fits Evan's description as mentioned by you
on the Flickr (link given below). Also please check James Y Young 's photograph
of  C. putra in this
link:  http://www.hkls.org/fieldtr/ChiangMai06/ChiangMai06.htm
And the most important question - Does C. putra  occurs in South India ??? With
warm regards,Isaac

      Isaac, hate to be a wet blanket, but according to Evans, ruficornis area
Plotz (= fusca Hampson) hindwing cilia chequered; above more or less clothed
dull dark yellow hairs, leaving on UPH large dark spot end cell and discal row.
(S. India to Bengal); ruficornis ruficornis Mabille from Java is "uniform. Upf
2 spots or conjoined dashes on costa, above and separate from cell spot;
usually spots in 4,5.

I still think Krishna's specimen is somewhere nearer C. putra.

Similar to Common Spotted Flat,

but semi-transparent white spots on UPF separated from each other; spot in 1b
may be absent. Spot may be Markings on UPH indistinct or absent. Antennae

chequered, club white.

Check the image in the flickr link below.Cheers! Isaac
