Hi Issac Sir,

Thanks for your reply.

Gopalpur, Orissa is a sea-beach and we were staying just by the side of the
beach. Starting from our arrival I started seeing some Crimson Rose butterfly
here and there. The very next day I got up early in the morning and went along
the sea-shore mainly in search of waders but surprisingly found out many
Crimson Rose flying in the beach. As I started going away from the beach
towards the fishermen locality the numbers were increasing. Really now there
were plenty of them. Among them I also saw one or two Common Mormon and Common
Rose. Also to mention, there was a particular grassy patch with some flowering
plants (sorry I am very bad at plants but I think may be it's flowers of
drumstick trees) where there were much at least more than 100s of Crimson Roses
nectoring and it was a beautiful sight to enjoy. There also I found 1 or 2
Common Rose butterfly. Next day it was again the same view, but this day I saw
many more particularly flying here and there in the beach.

Also to mention Maitreyee Das, another senior co-birder also spotted a similar
scenario of Crimson Rose four years back at Bhitarkanika, Orissa on January
26th 2006. Bhitarkonika is also on the same coastline as of Gopalpur and very
nearby also.
She also spotted most of the Crimson Roses on flowers of drumstick trees.

And also thanks for sharing your photos. Those are just excellent.

Thanks,
