Dear Keith, Thanks for the detailed reply to my querry. The first hairy caterpillar was seen on the ground and I did not touch it. What Mr. Rajesh Ovalekar felt was that it could be of one of the Barons (Common or Gaudy), as both are found there. The second one was on a Castor plant (Ricinus communis). So what you said could be very right. I saw both the Common and Gaudy Baron on the rotting Pineapple fruits which are kept as bait in the Butterfly Garden. It also attracted many Blue Oakleafs, Common Evening Brown, Bushbrowns etc. Regards, Raju
