You're absolutely right, Nelson. I had 5-6 chomping down a small curry leaf
plant in my tiny apartment garden. Then a few disappeared and I suspect a
couple of mynahs that were snooping around. So I transfered the remaining 2
cats to large sprigs of curry leaves kept in a vase indoors. It seems to have
worked so far with constant refreshing of food material with new curry leaf
sprigs from my other garden. I hope I get to see a lovely Common Mormon (why do
they call them Common?) in my home soon.

if you see carefully  in picture no 1 there is   a freshly  laid egg on  leaf
no 4 and a egg that is  probably ready to hatch on leaf no 5.
the host plant  is the common karipatha , many people who have  karipatha in
the garden when the cats emerge from these eggs  people throw out these  so
called worms not knowing they could turn out to be beautiful butterflies.

so if you  have a karipatha plant in your garden check it out  for some nice
surprises
