To add a little more, as Thomas' and Haneesh's excellent photos show, 
the colour and form of the caterpillar is so well matched to its 
droppings that unless one knows this peculiar behaviour , one would tend
 to think it's a dried bit of the leaf tip.



If this butterfly is in your area , it is very easy to attract it.



Keep a plate of rotting or over-ripe fruit (pappaya, pineapple,banana) 
in your windowsill, balcony or terrace. A little bit of beer added will 
do no harm . ( for the bait, i mean!! )



If you have a mussaenda plant closeby, u can expect it to lay eggs.



A kadam tree , Neolamarkia cadamba , is another plant to look for it.
