I was basically talking about "Staineyar Red Tarret" and they also claim that "Malabar Spotted Flat" and "Southern Duffer" are missing !!!
Btw all this while I believed that the butterflies are home grown with the help of local farmers. So I have been using the example of this park in my presentations to show how such a park can be beneficial to both Butterflies and Human beings. If indeed the story of catching the butterflies outside and freeing them inside the park is true, then the entire program is complete sham. I know that Dr. K. Chandrashekara's ( GKVK, Entomology Department, Bangalore) students have developed protocols for in-house breeding for around 32 species by 2008. I have seen hundreds of life cycles of these species in his lab. Somehow they were not able to get the ever-green species to puddle and court, so were unsuccessful to breed them. And of course, many generations were wiped out by microbial infections. So, the park was supposed to use these protocols and breed n release the butterflies inside the main doom. Probably people in this group, who have worked more closely with the park might clarify.
