If you are not constrained by budget, visit North-East twice a year. Once in one of April-May-June and again in October-November. If you can visit NE only once a year, it has to be one of March-April-May. I have visited Arunchal Pradesh in December, the diversity was significantly less compared to my visit of May-June. Do check out the rainy days as well.
