Dear Friends, Last Sunday, while I was watching the world go by from my window (now a days I can do only that) I was pleasantly surprised by a female Crimson Rose hovering around the window trellis where I have grown Aristolochia indica, but that day she did lay any egg, but kept on hovering. Next day in afternoon she was back and to my delight saw her curling her abdomen tip to lay a dark egg on the underside of the leaf. This way I saw her laying 7 to 9 eggs, or may be more. Looks like it takes around 7 days for the eggs to hatch so now I am waiting for my Christmas gift!! For several years I have attempted to get this Swallowtail lay eggs in my window garden so that I can work on the life history, but finally it worked.Cheers!Isaac
