BTW-I was standing under a Sal tree Shorea robusta at WII, Dehradun, when a larva that looked very similar fell out of the tree! We handed it over to Dr. Uniyal to rear, so will check what came out of it!

This moth was reared some months back and was processed a couple of months ago but unfortunately was not posted in the group ,but as Soubadra devi posted a cat picture of the caterpillar in Butterflyindia group I digged out this and posted on flicker

Out of curiosity I kept the beautiful bubble like caterpillar and it pupated within a couple of days. after a couple of weeks I found this insect, the moult, the hard cocoon in the jar first thought the wings were under developed but when I kept it on floor it started crawling
and jumping to distances of 6-9 inches
I had seen a similar insect in the creeks of a dried wood some years back, which I guess
didnt have any wings!
Krushnamegh suggested to post this in the group saying it could be a Limacodidae moth, which he had seen before
Experts please shed more light on this
