Milind, I don’t know whether I mentioned this, but there are softwares that can retrieve files from crashed hard drives. Some of them are free, but the good ones come at a small cost (roughly 1,200 to 1,600 rupees). One of my flash drives had crashed once, and I was able to retrieve all my pictures with the help of the software that I used (Photorescue). It was very easy.
If you still have your crashed hard drive, perhaps you can try to get your pictures back this way. It is painful to lose any butterfly pictures. Good luck.
