It does make reference to God, but as John pointed out, a scientist is free to get a hypothesis from any source he wants. If humans descended from chimps, we should be SEEING such changes from generation to generation. We don't. John is thinking of writing a computer program which would more accurately reflect reality, by comparison to Dawkins' Weasel program.
