Thanks Peter. Was not aware of that. I have seen C. siva twice in Goa and on both occasions managed to photograph it. The female was seen at Tambdi-Surla puddling along with male for a short time after which she took off.
Will need to take permission though to collect, since these locations are Wildlife Sanctuaries. regards Parag Rangnekar "Man is but a small strand in the web of life, what he does to the web he does to himself....." ________________________________ From: Peter Smetacek <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Thu, January 20, 2011 4:22:22 PM Subject: Re: [ButterflyIndia] Shiva's Sunbeam Please note that there are only very few specimens of Curetis siva females known worldwide. There are none in Indian collections that I know of, so if you were to come across females of the species again, I am certain that the BNHS, ZSI, FRI, IARI, etc will be very grateful for specimens. Saw two individuals, one male and a female, puddling in company of Tamil Yeoman Rustic. Luckily the male opened its wings for a few seconds to allow a couple of images. regardsParag Rangnekar"Man is but a small strand in the web of life, what he does to the web he does to himself....." -- Enjoy
