In the same vein, I would point out that your contributions are welcome at the BOI website (http://ifoundbutterflies.org/) as well. Things on this website are better organized and have broader, farther visibility for any internet user. Also, since all the content is peer-reviewed there, it is also more likely to be correct and current. Ideally, we all should post images and thoughts on this email group first, some of which will end up on the website after having been vetted through peer-review. Then the images/discussion would start here but there will be a more permanent record on the website for everyone to refer. As of today we have 94 species accounts on the website. Hopefully it will be hundreds of species later this year. Each species will have at least one photograph, so the collection will be very useful for those who want to identify their pictures by comparing with what’s on this website. I know that there are many more pictures on Flickr and elsewhere but those collections are much loosely organized.

Even if we are not perfect our contribution is valuable." How true this statement is and applies to all of us. We should not forget that "our contribution is valuable" and keep sharing our photographs, records and view on identification on the group for benefit of all.
