'ipthima' could well be the most logical pronunciation (with the 'p' silent, probably). The word 'Ypent' is pronounced 'ipent', the place 'Ypres' is pronounced 'ipre', the town 'Yperite' is pronounced 'iperite'. (the 'i' pronounced similar to the 'I' in 'India'.
