      Greetings eveyone,
I have had these references with me for quite a
while now and I thought that it might be a great idea to post them for the
benefit of all members. These are some classic references on Indian butterflies
and they will most certainly help all enthusiasts identify their photographs as
well as prove to be an invalubale reference guide to both amatuers as well as
the seasoned professionals.Included are many classics ranging from The Taxonomy
of Indian Butterflies by W.H. Evans and also the excellent Lepidoptera Indica
Volumes.

Warm regards and many thanks,
                                                Javed Jameer Ahmed

P.S: Most of these works are under public domain so I know that I am NOT
breaching any copyrights.
I tried to email these as attached .PDF documents however the file size is too
large. So what I am going to do is post links which users can visit to download
these books

and I will mail soft copies of these classics impromptu!
Please note that these books follow an older taxonomy and the
classfication of butterflies has since then been worked upon and changed. Please
follow any of the newer butterfly feild guides for aid in recent
nomenclature.Krushnamegh Kunte's excellent "Butterflies of Peninsular India"
along with Harish Goankars classic paper of Indian butterflies will be of much
help.
