Hi,

If somebody is counting the records, Yellow crested Spangle has been observed
and photographed also by Bana brahma in Ultapani somewhere in may-Aug 2010
[after my visit]. Bana and his wife Sumitra were with me when I photographed
Yellow crested spangle and then we wrongly I identified it as Spangle. almost
after 6 months  It was Peter who pointed that to be YCS.

Wonderful! Congratulations to Debaditya for photographing this rare species.
Kedar Tokekar had recently photographed it at Ultapani and filed it away as the
Spangle :). So this is the third record of the species in the past two years
that I know of. Looks like this "rediscovered" species (Choudhuri 2010, JoTT)
is
going to turn out to be not so rare, after all, similar to what we learned
about
the Scarce Jester (Symbrenthia silana) before.
