The black-coloured egg of the Tawny Coster was perfectly camouflaged on the dry capsule of Common Mallow [Thespesia lampas, syn. Azanza lampas]. Presumably the caterpillar will feed on the fresh new leaves that will sprout with the onset of the monsoons. Sending a few photographs - the last one was taken by my friend Jayesh Timbadia.
