Dear All, I have created a new butterfly website at www.flutters.org . It has an easily searchable photo gallery and will have more search features in coming days. I am restarting the newsletter and blog that was stopped two years back. Distribution, Blog and Search will work, as and when I update the database.
Eventually this will have the photos of host plants and moths as well that can be searched with various keys. So planning to get the help of Peter, Shubhalaxmi, Roger, Ian etc for Moths. Everyone is most welcome to contribute images and articles to this website at [email protected] . Photos will be searchable by location, month, photographer name, species name, etc. Blog articles can be searched using tags. We will also constantly add the images with ID keys, where similar species would have already been compared. All the photos will be downloadable with one click of a button. If you use any photos or articles from the website, please at least give credit to the photographer or the author. You don't have to give credits to this website. Free guides will be updated in couple of weeks. Each guide will have 100 species , that can be printed(preferably color) and used in the field. Our idea is cover at least 500 species in coming months. When you are submitting images, please mention date, location and name of the photographer. You can also mention the species name, if you know it. This website is not in competition with any other existing resources like IFB or Wikipages. They are all wonderful resources and this website is just trying to close the gaps. Mail your suggestions to [email protected].
